The ASI 294MM<\/b> is the first uncooled CMOS camera with the new Sony IMX492 sensor<\/b>. It is an ideal camera for photography of the sun, moon and planets, as well as for deep sky photography<\/b>. The model uses Sony’s modern “back illumination”<\/b> technology.
\nThe 4.6\u00b5m pixels of the ASI 294 make this camera an allrounder with the highest sensitivity<\/b> during short exposure times!
\nYou can even increase the resolution by using the camera in “unlocked mode”<\/i>. This gives you 2.3\u00b5m pixels.<\/p>\n

Extremely short exposure times<\/b> allow you to outsmart air turbulence (seeing) when photographing the moon or planets with the existing high sensitivity. The high resolution of the sensor<\/b> allows many details to be captured even with shorter telescope focal lengths.
\nFor deep sky photography, nebulae and galaxies can be captured after just a few seconds thanks to the high sensitivity. Although the camera is not cooled, low-noise images with high resolution<\/b> can be achieved. By increasing the GAIN (comparable to the ISO setting on digital SLR cameras), you can reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. This eliminates effects caused by air turbulence or tracking inaccuracies.<\/p>\n

The ASI 294MM<\/b> is equipped with USB 3.0 for fast downloads, but can also be operated with USB 2.0. The sensitive CMOS sensor has a diagonal of 23 mm and the resolution can be “adjusted” to 4.6 \u00b5m pixels or 2.3 \u00b5m pixels.
\nThe camera comes with an AR clear glass filter – full transmission even in the infrared spectrum. If the IR is to be blocked, an additional IR blocking filter is required.<\/p>\n

If the gain (preamplification) is set higher than 120, the readout noise is reduced to below 2e. Despite extremely high sensitivity, this gives you low-noise images.<\/p>\n

In ‘locked 63700e’ mode, even bright stars no longer burn out, giving you a better signal-to-noise ratio<\/b>.<\/p>\n
