This tripod occupies a special position within the Ranger series, as it is equipped with a tilting and swivelling centre column (with 3/8″ screw). A clamp screw on the head plate, which can be moved sideways and in a circle, holds the centre column securely in place. 180° tilt to horizontal and 360° swivels around the tripod axis greatly expand the creative possibilities when taking photographs. Video filmmakers and macro photographers in particular will certainly appreciate this feature. But even some hard-to-reach subjects can often be captured more easily with the centre column in a horizontal position than with a vertical alignment.
